Joe Gladue, CFA
Joe Gladue is the Chief Financial Officer and a Portfolio Manager of Equalize Capital LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also serves as the Treasurer and a Portfolio Manager of the Equalize Community Development Fund (EQCDX) and American Home Opportunity Mortgage Fund (AHOMe).
Mr. Gladue serves as the Director of Research for Alden Investment Group, a broker dealer. He previously served as Vice President Corporate Development for BofI Federal Bank. He also served as an Analyst for B. Riley & Co., LLC and Cohen & Company Securities, LLC. Mr. Gladue earned a Master of Science in finance at Loyola University in Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in economics at the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Gladue has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designations and holds the series, 7, 24, 63, 86 and 87 licenses.
Stephen Inglis, CFA
Since being granted his CFA Charter in 1996 Stephen has been active with the New York Society of Securitiy Analysts hosting events for over twenty years bringing awareness to emerging and frontier markets. While serving as Head of Investment Banking for WestLB Pacific in Tokyo starting in 2001 he was active with the CFA Japan Society promoting better corporate disclosure and governance for Japanese Companies.
In 2017, Stephen moved the headquarters of merchant bank AI Capital to San Juan leaving partners behind in New York. AI Capital is now involved in AgTech and Alternative Energy projects, and offering leading edge digital capital markets technologies.
Stephen’s current interests are in capital markets and locally in tax credit policy and development planning for Puerto Rico especially as it pertains to agriculture and energy, and looks forward to a vibrant San Juan Society to engage with in the financial community.
Paul I. Carey, CFA
Paul works with financial institutions, asset managers, the Federal Oversight Board and commercial clients, consulting on investment and management functions, business plan formation, forecasting models, capital structure planning as well as policy matters. From 2002 thru 2015, and just prior to his move to Puerto Rico, Paul was a Partner at Fountain Capital Management, an Institutional Asset Management firm with $2.5 billion in AUM. He was a member of the Investment Committee, the Management Committee and functioned as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Analyst. Fountain Capital specialized in investments in the High Yield Corporate Bond and Leveraged Loan markets. Fountain was sold to a joint venture partner in 2015. Paul’s prior work experience includes Sprint Corporation in Corporate Development/Corporate Finance evaluating M&A transactions, and Equity Research at the investment bank George K. Baum & Company as an associate analyst. In his career, Paul has had investment research coverage responsibility for industries as varied as Telecommunications and Cable, Automotive, Finance, Homebuilders, Consumer Products, Professional Services and many more.
Paul has his MBA in Finance and Economics from DePaul University in Chicago and earned the right to use the CFA designation in 2005. He has lived and worked in Puerto Rico since January of 2016.
